This striking cowrie shell and Sonoran Turquoise ring is completely hand fabricated, the silver setting has been carefully made to fit around the materials perfectly, keeping them safe and secure. Wire trim and granulated silver balls wrap around for decoration and the underside of the setting has wave detailing, a symbol of the shells humble beginnings. There is a double width silver band with hand stamped feather detailing to either side and further granulation.
The cowrie shell has been important to many cultures and religions for thousands of years, used to adorn clothing and accessories for the most wealthiest in society. It represents goddess protection and is deeply connected to the power of the ocean.
The turquoise has the most beautiful flecks of pyrite present and represents protection and good fortune.
This inspiring ring is made from Eco silver which is 100% recycled, the shell has been reclaimed from vintage accessories and the sea glass found along my local shoreline here in Whitby.
