This striking cowrie shell and Whitby sea glass necklace is completely hand fabricated, the silver setting has been carefully made to fit around the materials perfectly, keeping them safe and secure. Hand stamped detail and large silver pebbles surround each section of the pendant which is split into two parts so that it moves freely at the end of an extra long chain making it perfect for layering. The underside of the settings has wave detailing, a symbol of the shell and sea glass' humble beginnings.
The cowrie shell has been important to many cultures and religions for thousands of years, used to adorn clothing and accessories for the most wealthiest in society. It represents goddess protection and is deeply connected to the power of the ocean.
The sea glass has been hand picked from my local shoreline and not altered in any way.
This inspiring necklace is made from Eco silver which is 100% recycled and the shell has been reclaimed from vintage accessories.
Approximate chain length 30" with green gemstone beads at the end.
Officially hallmarked by the Sheffield Assay office.
